You can count rows read by any reader component by creating metadata with one additional field, integer with autofilling function set to source_row_count. http://doc.cloveretl.com/documentation/ … lling.html
The other option is to use Aggregate component with count() function. http://doc.cloveretl.com/documentation/ … egate.html
