Re: Designer can not find class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

Hi Jonathan,

I'm not sure why the dbDriver property doesn't work for you - the driver should be on classpath of Designer. I just quickly tried it, and it work in my setup. Luckily using database property works for you.

Jaro

Re: Specify alternate plugins directory for designer

Hi Jonathan, the problem you're seeing is cause by the checkconfig in Designer (it creates an instance of the graph and asks it for configuration problems). Unfortunately checkconfig does not support the alternate location of engine plugins. I've reported an issue in our bugtracker: https://bug.javl...

Re: Designer can not find class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

Hi Jonathan, can you try just using "database=ORACLE" instead of "dbDriver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver" in the connection cfg file? This will make the Designer use its built-in Oracle JDBC driver. Overall, the configuration of the connection could look something like the atta...

Re: Specify alternate plugins directory for designer

Hi Jonathan, I've just tried the scenario with CloverETL 3.0.2, and it seems to work. I've copied the plugins directory from Designer to an outside location, similarly to what you did. Then I've added my custom engine plugin there and changed the plugins location. Then I created a simple graph with ...

Re: Designer can not find class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver

Hi,

didn't this start to appear after you used the "use alternate plugins location" option from your other forum post?

Best regards,
Jaro

Re: Specify alternate plugins directory for designer

Hi, the "use alternate plugins location" method will not work - it switches the location where CloverETL Engine looks for all its plugins, even the "core" ones. Currently it's not possible to add just an engine plugin that would be located outside of the plugins location. Just to...

Hi Jeff,

to be able to answer your question - how exactly were you running the graphs in Linux?

Re: Set appropriate parameter in defaultProperties file.

Hi, regarding your troubles with changing the parameters of CloverETL, please see the documentation here: http://www.cloveretl.com/documentation/UserGuide/index.jsp?topic=/com.cloveretl.gui.docs/docs/cloveretl-default-settings.html . In short - there's basically two ways: - modifying the properties ...

Re: not creating a file in the UniversalDataWriter

Hi, the UniversalDataWriter always creates the output file (even if not writing the field names), so you will need to delete the file. There's several options to do that: - use a JavaExecute component in a following phase, and in the Java code you would check the contents of the file (i.e. "it ...

Re: hashJoin in community edition

Hi Jeff, you're correct that HashJoin can be very memory intensive - it caches slave records in memory. To join large data, you need to use MergeJoin component that would leverage the pre-sorted status of your data. Please see Joining Data for more info on joiners. However, the MergeJoin component i...

Re: Directory/file listing

Hello, currently it's not possible to set the number of generated records in runtime. Luckilly there's a workaround. Set the number of records to be generated by the DataGenerator to a number that you think will always be larger than will really want to generate (number of listed files in your case)...

Re: Profiler - known issues

UPDATE: Processing data sources with large number of fields(columns) The issue described in the previous post will be very rare in the upcoming beta 2 of CloverETL Profiler. The new version profiles data with a much more compact CloverETL graph. The only situation when the issue will occur is if yo...

Re: Q: Stripping newline chars from an XML document

Hi Tony, just one note - you need to be careful about the size of the XML. The whole XML content needs to fit into the edges, so the size is limited by the Record.MAX_RECORD_SIZE property, see documentation here . The current default of MAX_RECORD_SIZE is 64KB, so you might need to modify it dependi...
