Re: Clover Engine 4.0.4 and java version

Hi Anna,

You are of course correct, Java 7 is required. I have started a new issue in our bug tracker to update this information in readme.txt, see https://bug.javlin.eu/browse/CLO-5889

Regarding 32bit/64bit, both versions are supported. The preferred type is Oracle JDK.

Re: Sharing LookupTable between Subgraph and Parent graph

Hello Otto,

If I understand correctly, you want to use Simple lookup table. This is unfortunately not possible at the moment. However, it is an interesting idea. I have started a new issue in our bug tracker, see CLO-5859.

A workaround is to use Persistent lookup table.

Re: Dynamic URL Path Based on MetaData

Hi Laura,

This is easily possible using partitioned writing.

Example:

File URL: ${DATAOUT_DIR}/#/email.txt
Create directories: true
Partition key: subject (The name of your metadata field)
Partition file tag: Key file tag

I hope this helps.

Re: Dynamic SQL execution based on column value

Even though some components allow mapping input values to output, DBInputTable is unfortunately not one of them.

In this case, where DB query returns only one result, it is possible to use SimpleCopy before the DBInputTable and Combine after it.

Re: Newbie Grouping Question

Something like this: string style = ""; integer productId = 0; function integer transform() { if ($in.0.Style != style) { style = $in.0.Style; productId++; } $out.0.ProductID = productId; $out.0.Style = style; $out.0.Description = $in.0.Description; $out.1.ProductID = productId; $out.1.Siz...

Re: Newbie Grouping Question

I would do the following: 1) Sort the input by Style. 2) Add an ID to each style. This can be done in Reformat where you maintain two global variables, one for the current ID and one for the current style. If the style changes when compared to the previous record, the ID is increased by one and it r...

Re: Dynamic SQL execution based on column value

Hello,

This should be quite straghtforward, see the example graph. The bottom line is that SQL does not have to be defined in CTL as a local variable, it should be a metadata field.

I hope this helps.

Re: Generate primary key

Hi Daniel, If the records were flowing from a reader component, you could use autofilling functions . However, this is not the case. The other option you have is to create a global variable in the last Reformat before the Trash. You could count your records there and send the current value to the ou...

Re: How to store passwords to SSL keys

Hi evanchen,

This question is actually not related to CloverETL Server, it is a matter of your application server which needs to be pointed to the JAVA_OPTS. But I do not think the requested security is possible. See the following answer on StackOverflow.

Re: Jobflow failures after upgrading to 4.0.1.20 from 3.4.2.11

Hi, The change does not have to be in the graph, it can be in the DB as well. Did the database table change lately? We did multiple tests here and the result was always as expected - if the graph fails during the initialization, the jobflow ends with an error no matter the version of CloverETL. Ther...

Re: HTTP Connector and Web Service client HTTP Protocols

Hi,

I do not know about Integrator but this is unfortunately not possible in CloverETL at the moment. However, I have raised a new issue for it, see https://bug.javlin.eu/browse/CLO-5730

Thank you for the useful improvement idea.

Re: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError

As the step #1, upgrade your CloverETL Server to the version matching with Designer, please. Incompatible versions (even minor versions) often result into unpredictable errors.

If the problem persists, let me know.

Re: Melt Data from Wide format to Long format

IDs 1 and 2 do not indicate phone 1 and phone 2, they identify the person.

I have modified the original graph. I added a new field called source and this field contains name of the original field. Is this solution sufficient?

Re: Jobflow failures after upgrading to 4.0.1.20 from 3.4.2.

This seems odd, it should not behave this way. Could you please send me the jobflow, the graph and the error log? I will look into them and hopefully find the issue.

Thanks.

Re: About the component LookupTableReaderWriter

Hi Evan, As our documentation states, Lookup table property should contain ID of the lookup table you want to use. The answer to both your questions is that you have to create the lookup table first. Just right-click on the Lookups item in the Outline pane and choose Lookup tables -> Create internal...
