Re: New to CloverDX

Hi, It is correct to output null values as empty strings because if there would be null written in the output file, it would be interpreted as a string containing value "null" when read. The null values are important only for programming/scripting languages such as CTL2 . Please note that ...

Re: How to pull input parameters from one jobflow to another

Hi Mohamed,

This is unfortunately a known bug. However, it is fixed since version 5.2.0. So upgrading to 5.2.0 or newer will resolve this issue. I would recommend upgrading directly to version 5.3.

Best regards.

Re: putting files in a folder

Hi,

CloverDX Designer is fully drag&drop compatible so you can simply drop the files you need into the folder you like within the Navigator window on the left-hand side of the Designer. Alternatively you can obviously use <CTRL>+C & <CTRL>+V.

Hope this helps.

Re: Best practices for shared/external subgraphs across sandboxes?

Hi Markus, I would definitely suggest to use the first approach. This is usually the right way to share a commonly re-usable parts. The situation with ambiguous ${PROJECT} parameter can be quite easily solved by passing the absolute path to the subgraph which can be dynamically generated in the call...

Re: How to write greek characters on MSsyl database?

Hi Peter, I'm actually not sure if you're using MySQL or MSSQL but that shouldn't really matter in this case. All sorts of components in CloverDX can use different charsets. So, please check if your DBOutputTable have UTF-8 set as well. Another option is that the database table is configured to use ...

Re: Pass Record as function parameter

Hi, Unfortunately, there is no CTL function to dynamically detect number of component ports. However, it is possible to work around this by using a SimpleCopy component . If you put this component behind your Reformat component, the code can be more generic and pass the output to only one record eve...

Re: Clover ETL Server 4.4 SFTP Listener configuration

Hi Jon,

Unfortunately, it is not implemented. The documentation is not correct in this particular case as the only option is to use a password. We are going to fix the documentation. Thank you for pinpointing the misinformation.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards.

Re: CloverETL and Windows Task Scheduler

Hi Phill, It looks like from the Task Scheduler point of view there is no difference between running the graph successfully or not. The Task Scheduler history always reads "..., action "C:\windows\SYSTEM32\cmd.exe" with return code 4294967295.". I don't know what this return code...

Re: Which Lookup should I Use?

Hi, I would rather suggest a solution where you would use a DBInputTable to search the database table for: select * from Database_table where Database_table.Column_2=flat_file.Column_1 and if it returns zero records, write the flat file into the DB. Searching in the database should be quite a lot fa...

Re: Embeded Derby Database failures after run-away graph overloaded execution history

Hi, It is rather unusual location but it is possible. I'm sorry for my mistake, the location of the database is not bound to the java.io.tmpdir variable but it is located in working directory by default and can be changed by a property. More information can be found in our documentation . I would su...

Re: Embeded Derby Database failures after run-away graph overloaded execution history

Hi, First I would like to clarify that the embedded Derby database is not a fully fledged database and should serve for basic testing purposes only, never for any kind of production. Even for advanced testing and/or development environments we recommend using a 3rd party, fully fledged SQL database....

Re: problem with merge

Hi, Unfortunately, I don't have enough information to pinpoint the exact root cause of this issue. I will need more information in order to find out. Although, memory issues usually manifest themselves by an error or an exception, it's definitely worth taking a look at it. Depending on whether you'r...

Re: how to externalize a db connection with environmental variables?

Hi Ramiro, It is possible to use environment variables even in externalized connections. However, under certain circumstances, these variables may not be visible to CloverETL, mainly on Linux where these variables may exist in isolated shells. So, the most reliable way to tell whether the CloverETL ...

Re: How add new records to a dataset

Hi, This kind of task can be done fairly easily using a component called Simple Gather . You can connect both data sources to its input ports and it will append the data from one source to the other creating a single dataset. Attached is an example graph with some example data. If this is not what y...
