Re: problem with merge

Hi, Unfortunately, I don't have enough information to pinpoint the exact root cause of this issue. I will need more information in order to find out. Although, memory issues usually manifest themselves by an error or an exception, it's definitely worth taking a look at it. Depending on whether you'r...

Re: how to externalize a db connection with environmental variables?

Hi Ramiro, It is possible to use environment variables even in externalized connections. However, under certain circumstances, these variables may not be visible to CloverETL, mainly on Linux where these variables may exist in isolated shells. So, the most reliable way to tell whether the CloverETL ...

Re: How add new records to a dataset

Hi, This kind of task can be done fairly easily using a component called Simple Gather . You can connect both data sources to its input ports and it will append the data from one source to the other creating a single dataset. Attached is an example graph with some example data. If this is not what y...

Re: Best practices for health checks against Clover Server / Execution History filters question

Hi, You can check whether the CloverETL Server is up on the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/clover/accessibilityTest .jsp. This page does not require any form of authentication and can return 3 states: OK/200, 500 or 503. It is not a documented page as it is usually used only for our internal te...

Re: How to deduplicate information?

Hi Nicolás, There is a component called Dedup in CloverETL software which is able to remove duplicates from the input data based on a key - specific column/field within the input data. If this is not what you are looking for, please provide me with more detailed example with some sample input data. ...

Re: Substring of Email Address

Hi hesske,

You can accomplish this multiple ways. The most convenient seems to be to use split function. Please take this an example.

Code: Select all

string[] out = split($in.0.address, "@");

Attached is an example graph.

Re: Running Clover Graph with Java7 has become really slow

Hi François, Unfortunately, this is very old version of CloverETL software which is no longer supported. Version 2.5.x wasn't tested with Java 7 as it wasn't released at that time, therefore, we cannot guarantee full compatibility. I would suggest to upgrade to one of the recent versions of CloverET...

Re: Replace a string containing a DOT to New Line.

Hi,

Here is a simple usage example of the function:

Code: Select all

$out.0.field1 = replace($in.0.field1, "\\.", "\n");

Hope this helps,

Re: Running Clover Graph with Java7 has become really slow

Hi François, That is quite strange behavior, however, I would like to kindly ask you to provide me with a bit more detailed information, so that I can better understand your setup, please. 1. What version of CloverETL software are you using? 2. Do you use CloverETL Server to run your graphs? 3. Do y...

Re: How to enable TLS 1.2 in Clover ETL Community version 3.5

Hi Jagan, As the CloverETL Designer is basically an Eclipse plugin, the TLS should be enabled in a similar manner. Please try to add the following VM argument to the run configuration of your graph(s). -Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1,TLSv1.1,TLSv1.2 You can add the VM argument via the Designer's top menu ->...

Re: AWS Instance Type Recommendations

Hi, Currently, we have no official recommendations for EC2 instances. Regarding the instance type, I would recommend either the General Purpose or the Compute Optimized. But this is just based on their description . The minimal requirements are the same as for a regular physical machine and you can ...

Re: How does the System Execute Command work related to connections?

Hi pintail, I've got two ideas on how to avoid this behavior. 1. Set the timeout property on the SystemExecute component. The command is executed as a separate process and if it keeps waiting for a response for example, this should kill the process after the selected time. 2. Try using Execute Scrip...

Re: Tomcat user running CloverETL

Hi hewills, Unfortunately, there is no universally recommendable user configuration. I assume you mean that the tomcat user doesn't have access to the Linux shell. In this case the options really are to run the scripts under another user who can do it (as you do now) or to allow the tomcat user to l...

Re: How does the System Execute Command work related to connections?

Hi pintail, I've seen that you have started two very similar threads. Therefore, I will use only this one to, hopefully help you with this issue. The script is indeed saved into a file in a temp folder. The exact path can be seen in run log of the graph when you switch the logging level to DEBUG. Th...
