Re: How to write custom aggregate function

Hi, First of all, the open source engine is officially not supported and also discontinued, version 5.1.1 is the latest ever to be released. However, here are some hints. 1. Denormalizer is definitely a cleaner way in terms of not altering the source code. 2. If you need to re-use the Denormalizer a...

Re: How to handle "LF" character.

Hi,

I just found out this is a feature of the metadata configuration as per the documentation. I must admit it's confusing and I didn't know about this feature either. On the other hand, it might be useful for certain corner cases.

Best regards.

Re: Importing Functions from a second Java file

Hi rodrigofrb, I have reviewed your test project and here are my findings. The reason why you weren't able to import the CoolFunctions class is that in Java you cannot import types from an unnamed (default) package . This is the case when you put your *.java files directly into the trans folder. So,...

Re: How to handle "LF" character.

Hi, I'm not sure if you're aware of that functionality but you can actually extract metadata from the input file . I did exactly that on your input file and it works flawlessly. Attached is an example graph that works with your file. You can test it in your environment and compare it to your graph. ...

Re: How to handle "LF" character.

Okay, basically, if it's still the same error: "Unexpected record delimiter, probably record has too few fields.", it means there's a mismatch in the expected number of fields and the actual number of fields coming from the input file. Can you please attach an example input file that cause...

Re: How to handle "LF" character.

Okay, this is a different error and is not related to the record delimiter (\r\n vs. \n) but the field delimiter. It appears the fields in the file are delimited by comma, whereas the default field delimiter is pipe |. I just realized I made a mistake in my previous explanation. The record delimiter...

Re: How to handle "LF" character.

Hi, This is configurable on you metadata. You just need to open up the metadata editor (double click on the metadata name in the Outline window) and select \n as the record delimiter - this is the escape sequence for line feed (LF). You can do this either one by one for each field separately or you ...

Re: New to CloverDX

Hi, It is correct to output null values as empty strings because if there would be null written in the output file, it would be interpreted as a string containing value "null" when read. The null values are important only for programming/scripting languages such as CTL2 . Please note that ...

Re: How to pull input parameters from one jobflow to another

Hi Mohamed,

This is unfortunately a known bug. However, it is fixed since version 5.2.0. So upgrading to 5.2.0 or newer will resolve this issue. I would recommend upgrading directly to version 5.3.

Best regards.

Re: putting files in a folder

Hi,

CloverDX Designer is fully drag&drop compatible so you can simply drop the files you need into the folder you like within the Navigator window on the left-hand side of the Designer. Alternatively you can obviously use <CTRL>+C & <CTRL>+V.

Hope this helps.

Re: Best practices for shared/external subgraphs across sandboxes?

Hi Markus, I would definitely suggest to use the first approach. This is usually the right way to share a commonly re-usable parts. The situation with ambiguous ${PROJECT} parameter can be quite easily solved by passing the absolute path to the subgraph which can be dynamically generated in the call...

Re: How to write greek characters on MSsyl database?

Hi Peter, I'm actually not sure if you're using MySQL or MSSQL but that shouldn't really matter in this case. All sorts of components in CloverDX can use different charsets. So, please check if your DBOutputTable have UTF-8 set as well. Another option is that the database table is configured to use ...

Re: Pass Record as function parameter

Hi, Unfortunately, there is no CTL function to dynamically detect number of component ports. However, it is possible to work around this by using a SimpleCopy component . If you put this component behind your Reformat component, the code can be more generic and pass the output to only one record eve...

Re: Clover ETL Server 4.4 SFTP Listener configuration

Hi Jon,

Unfortunately, it is not implemented. The documentation is not correct in this particular case as the only option is to use a password. We are going to fix the documentation. Thank you for pinpointing the misinformation.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards.

Re: CloverETL and Windows Task Scheduler

Hi Phill, It looks like from the Task Scheduler point of view there is no difference between running the graph successfully or not. The Task Scheduler history always reads "..., action "C:\windows\SYSTEM32\cmd.exe" with return code 4294967295.". I don't know what this return code...
